It gets better reception than a store-bought antenna ($30-$120), plus it fits easily in the attic and doesn't require any power!
I thought about doing my own instructions, but these instructions are great. I used them. Spent under $7 building it. I already had what I needed except the antenna adapter.

Everything you need is available at Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace, etc.
Materials you will need:
- 4 metal coat hangars
- 2x4, about 30" long
- cardboard, about 30"x16"
- 3 feet of Romex wire, 12 or 14 gauge (in bulk wire section at Home Depot)
- Antenna adapter
- aluminum foil
- wood screws
- washers
- Coaxial Video Cable (to hook it up once it is built)
Tools you will need:
- wire strippers
- drill
- file
- duct tape
- screw driver
